Location: Temple of Karnak, Thebes, Egypt Quartzite
Around 1200 B.C., SethosII, the grandson of Ramesses II, erected a pair
of small quartzite obelisks.
One of these is still standing on its pedestal on the quay before the
First Pylon of the Great Temple of Amun at Karnak; the other is lost. (On the right in the
photograph below)
